After one week, Samuel gained between 10 and 11 oz! He had his first bath and met his grandma Gloria. Samuel eats every 2.5-3hrs, even at night, so we are really feeling the effects of sleep deprivation! His doctor said that he is growing so well that we can let him sleep as long as he wants at night. We are hoping he will pick up on the idea soon... His doctor pulled off the umbilical cord stump during the appointment. She also recommended Boudreaux's Butt Paste to treat his diaper rash and it seems to have done the trick. He has had a limited wardrobe because most of his clothes are still way too big! He is fitting better now though in his newborn size clothes. My recovery is going pretty well. I am so glad to be rid of the heartburn and swelling of pregnancy!

Little Samuel is so precious and handsome, but more importantly, so very blessed to have been born into a loving, stable family that's been anxiously, joyfully preparing for him!! ReplyDeleteI think Brandon is in love again... I can see his body language. What a precious darling. Sure hope that bathroom was warm, he looks cold laying there nude. Did you have him circumcised? And Jacki, you look really good, I am sure you are pleased to leave the heartburn behind, that would be uncomfortable. Never had it myself, but sure had other problems. Soon you will be back into your clothes and will hardly know you were pregnant, except for the added life in your family. Indeed, blessings!!
ReplyDeleteI am reminded of a time many years ago when such a small human ruled and dominated almost every moment of my life. Time passes too quickly. I just love little Samuel and am so sorry to leave tomorrow. It has been so fun to watch him add on the baby fat and focus his eyes and work out with those little strong legs ! Yay for Skype !
